The incident took place around 12:10 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, at Darien High School.
Darien Police received a 911 call reporting an assault in one of the parking lots of Darien High School.
An officer arrived on the scene in less than 60 seconds but was unable to locate a suspect, said Darien PD Sgt. James Palmieri.
An initial investigation determined that two female parties were attacked by a single, unknown man as they stood outside of their parked vehicle, Palmieri.
The man was last seen fleeing the area on foot. The two women were treated for minor injuries sustained as a result of the altercation and were transported to Stamford Hospital.
The incident was witnessed by two individuals who had been on the scene and were acquaintances of the victims.
A thorough search of the area, including the use of a tracking K-9, was conducted but no suspect was located, Palmieri said.
"It is the belief of investigators that this appears to be a random and isolated incident," Palmieri said.
The incident remains under active investigation by members of the Darien Police Detective Bureau.
If anyone has any information in regards to the above incident, they are asked to call the Darien Police Detective Bureau at 203-662-5330.
